There are also beautiful orchids and rare animals to be seen here, such as the famous quetzal, the bird of the gods, with its long tail feathers.
In the north-west of Costa Rica you should visit the Rincon de la Vieja National Park. The park is known for its particularly well-developed and signposted network of hiking trails. From here you can easily reach the seaside resorts on the northern Pacific, such as Playa de Coco, Playa de Hermosa, Playa Conchal, etc.
