1: Color Matching

Part of getting the clothes matching is to match the color of the clothes right. Priority one to consider is that the notes should go together, although there are different colors you match together. You can basically mix the colors you want, but the notes must harmonize with each other.

2: Size-matching

The right fit

An important part when you get together a good outfit is that it is the right size of the garments. Have not really track of if you should have regular- or slim fit on the shirt and straight or skinny jeans? It can be the clerk of clothing store help you! It is important to be able to move freely without any restrictions because out that it is too slim garment. At the same time one can not be so baggy clothes make you look like a tent.

Three quick-base proportions that relate to:

  • Even if you want to have a regular fit in the jeans need jeans for that matter not be too large. Alpha and Omega is that they fit well in the waist. You should not need to use up the five holes on the belt.
  • Pants must not be too short or so long that you trample on them. Do you want to be trendy and run the shorter pants? Buy a pair that is noticeably short or run at strumplöst. It must become clear that you do not lack style feeling.
  • Most importantly, when it comes to the shirt is that it fits around the shoulder area. Shoulder seam of the shirt may not crawl too far from the shoulder down the arm. It should lie just above the armpit.
The length of the arms and the length of the shirt is also important. Read our previous article on how long a shirt should be.

Mix in stock

Mixing tighter garments in stock with lax garments are always a hit. Slim jeans with tight T-shirt and baggy pants with oversize sweater can be a little too much either.
It must not necessarily be Södermalms hipsters layering multiple coats wearing that look three sizes too big out. It’s always neat for the whole to wear tighter clothes with slightly less tight-fitting garments. A tight polo shirt into a straight jacket or a slim fit shirt to a looser cardigan example.

Do you use an upper and lower garments, it looks best to keep the garments (like polo and slim fit shirt in the examples above) tight. A bulky shirt underneath a tight sweater can be difficult to get to. Too much fabric that simply folds and take up space unnecessarily.

Most importantly, the whole silhouette will be interesting yet harmonious.

3: Material Matching

Besides getting to the colors and sizes in one outfit is also important materials. The easiest way to go is to separate the thin and thick pieces together. A shiny suit with thin woven shirt is easier to get to with patent leather shoes than eg jeans are. Jeans and knit turtleneck is then also easier to wear with desert boot than a suit is.

Examples of coarser material is flannel, tweed and denim oxford. Cotton, silk, silk and other thinner materials with little shinier structures are typical thin material.

Thin knit shirt to suit pants with creases is typical of thin materials, they fit well together because both suitable for more formal occasions. Army green shirt with more details such as breast pockets and buttons feel more casual, it therefore fits well with jeans.

Dare mix

Nothing is ever black or white. Of course you can mix the materials with each other without problems. A tip to relate to, then, to keep sized and color matching neutral. Want to stand out with the colors you can think the same way; do not work so much with layers and use clothing in similar materials. Want to work with many different types and sizes of the garments you can stick to similar materials and solid.

All three matches are interdependent and equally important. As long as you have all three in mind when selecting your clothes and selects a floating out (if one feels like it ), you get together a working outifit in no time!

The easiest way is to keep the outfit plain or bland color scheme. Then you can easily mix different materials, styles and types of clothing with each other.
